What’s this blog all about?

The short answer is photography. The long answer is that I am still relatively new to photography and have not fallen into specific fields yet. I love landscapes, seascapes, architectural abstract but I also enjoy dabbling in my other photography fields. Hopefully my blog and the subject matter will grow organically as my experience in photography increases. I can’t say what direction the blog will end up but hopefully I will capture some great shots along the way and pass on my experiences to others.
With so many photo sharing sites such as Flicker, Google+, Facebook and 500px to name a few, some of which I use regularly and intend to keep doing so, my hope for this blog is to expand on what these sites don’t usually provide. That is to allow me to share my thought process behind the images, techniques and some of the detail of prost-processing work that come together to create the final image. The blog will also allow me to record, track and share any personal projects I am undertaken.
My name is Greig Houghton, a native of Scotland, but now married, living and working my trade in Ireland. A Civil Engineer by day and a photographer for the remainder.
